MEMORY OF LOOTING Bagua, 05 JUNE 2009
(In Memoriam of the Martyrs of Bagua)

Arequipa, June 13, 2009

a couple of months ago I was for Amazon Region and it was there I heard some fellow voice their total rejection of the Legislative Decree DL incostitucional 1090 [1 ]. It's been two months and never thought that chance conversation where a fleeting idea of \u200b\u200ba bloody outcome would end up being real. And is that from a while back that outcome was already written [ A ] Paradoxically

while countries in the world and public and private organizations in Peru celebrated the World Environment Day, an order came from above [
i], to unblock the road uncompromisingly located in Sector Curve the devil, "Bagua. Troops of the DINOES they did not know exactly what operation taken place, completely off guard as "cannon fodder" [ ii] would be responsible for running one of the most outrageous and unacceptable that the Peruvian government has been doing shift .
The unofficial results from handling media [
iii] is abruptly upsetting because not only are trying to exterminate the indigenous natives of different ethnic groups but also their bodies were burned and many others were thrown into the River Marañon [iv ] The result was a genocide and as such should go to the International Criminal Court [ vi]. But to be recognized as such, it must be evidence that the head of operations has had the intentions to suppress the ethnic group. Is the trickiest part because you have to prove intent. Peru, signed on December 11, 1948 and ratified on February 24, 1960 "The Convention for the prevention et la repression of Genocidal Crime, New York, December 9, 1948." And sign the Rome Statute on 7 March 2000, confirming his signature on March 11, 2003. [Vii ]

The Peruvian government will strongly deny that the attack was by air, with snipers, who burned the bodies of the fallen building where the curfew has begun a hunt for Indians who participated in this historic event for humankind. [B ] Just now the Premier goes on to say that includes the worldview of Amazonian Peoples. If he had understood the Amazonian people would not mourn dead now. The FTA with the USA is responsible for these measures of strength and intransigence that the Peruvian government is using the pretext of development and progress of "National Interest." Peru and Argentina are the only two Latin American countries who have not suffered the ravages of war have lost their oil. What is writing in the history of Peru is The Memory of a Plunder of Natural Resources at the expense of the death of its inhabitants. Amazonian Peoples have always been the most neglected by the Peruvian Government and the vast majority of the Peruvian population, which unfortunately with a very poor education offered by the State are the bias of thinking that the Andean Cordillera and the Amazon are second-class citizens, who are wild with arrows. The endormecimiento and dehumanization of the vast majority of Peruvians are channeled to support the hungry materialistic and destructive of the existing Government. We have been taught in schools that development is synonymous with having all the scum who sells us the Uncle Sam. "Capitalism is the world's most respected Recognizing" [Che Guevara]
The silence and indifference to acts against humanity are also complicit in the barbaric rulers of Peru. Consequences will be dire if we do not think now and unless we act with firmness and conviction against the low intentions the Government has in mind under the pretext of development.

What happened on 05 June in the city of Bagua is a historical fact that the responsibility not only to the Peruvians, but also to humanity, since the integrity of the Amazon is at stake. Bagua Martyrs icons will struggle from here on out, for them with his naked torso defended the right to breathe oxygen. Humanity owes a great debt to them. And a minister has resigned in response to what happened in Bagua. [Viii
]
dehumanized face of this act have emerged several independent initiatives and trade associations, where the large national mobilization of June 11 was a massive response from Peruvians in solidarity with our brothers killed in Bagua, the government has had to take a step back, at the moment ... [ix
] The Peruvian artist Eduardo Villanes (currently resides in USA) has developed a visual material not to forget this fact harmful. [*] Internet is the medium where in a "clandestine" and "unofficial" organizations and individuals expressed their total rejection and spread the other side of the coin [ x, xi ]
It was a great logo for us who believe in a world fair, just, dignified, with respect to the Amazonian peoples and lungs of the earth.

The struggle continues, we should be aware there is still much to be done.

What we have to practice today, is solidarity. We should not approach the people to say: "Here we are. We come to give the charity of our presence, to teach our presence, to teach in our science, to show you your mistakes, your ignorance, your lack of basic skills." We must go with research efforts, and humble spirit, to learn from the great source of wisdom that is the people. "
Ernesto Guevara de La Serna. Speech, August 1960.
